Happy New Year!!

Ahhhhhh!! Damn it's going to be good to be done with 2008, it feels so out of date, so last year.

I decided to put some last effort in to 2008, try to be productive until the very end in stead of just stuffing my face with X-mas sweets. I went out shredding with some friends the other day and managed to put together a little edit from our local hills. Cruising those hills is always the best at this time of year, the parks are up but everything is small and you just have to make the best out of it. Luckily we had a lot of cold weather so they have produced a lot of snow and managed to put up pretty rad parks already, small rad parks.

Pirate Web interviews

That's right you scallywags!
I'm back in blog-updating mode, and that means you're more than welcome to waste more of your precious online time in my web-presence.

The Pirate's decided to give all of you a Christmas present and posted interviews with all the riders on the Pirate website. There's a couple of gems in there, so go through them all, look at it as a treasure hunt in Pirate land.

I talk and about junk and stuff.
You know what? The pic is a link, magical.

Last Days in Austria

I guess the last days in Austria is what drained all the energy out of me. I had a bunch to catch up on and that made it hard to locate any motivation to update this blog, even if I had a magical motivation GPS.

The last days of my Austria trip was spent in an awesome place called Def Raggn in East Tirol. After hanging out in the Innsbruck / Arlberg area for a while, we decided that we would most likely be better off in East Tirol where it had been snowing like hell and people had been living without a connection to the outside world for a couple of days due to the heavy snowfall. When we got there we were so fucking happy to see how much snow they had, an immediate feeling of having made the right decision.
But here's the kind gnarly part of our stay. We stayed in an old hunters cabin, a pretty nice touch to our mountain trip really, beside the fact that it was fucking freezing. The lack of electricity, water and heating seem to do that to old uninsulated mountain cabins. To be fair, we had some heating in the kitchen, a small fire stove that we tried to keep going continuously without any luck. So all my clothes and boots stayed nice and wet/damp the whole trip which turned my boardbag into a biological bomb when it finally hit the airport after 4 days of heavy bacteria colonizing. I seriously hope some of the airport security staff opened it to do a closer inspection, it would be a nice payback for all the hassle they give me each time I fly.
But let's get back to the cabin.
Before I went to sleep each day I would get in my sleeping bag still wearing my smelly super-underwear and a beanie, zip it all up while I put on a blanket. In the light of four candles or Carlos' headlight I would get a heavy and warm duvet and put it on top. The next morning I would wake up with frost smoke and see that the snow we managed to drag in the night before was still powder even if it spent a night in our room.

Here's a small sketch I did of our cabin, if your press the pic it will magically get bigger and easier to read.

But fuck all of that, we had a great time.
The forest had lots of pow and we got to hit pillows, shoot and cruise pow, then it's ok to smell like bear poo mixed with an old man's locker room.

Here are some pics from our trip.

This is the guys I went there with, a sketchy bunch of dudes.

Carlos Blanchard, a bitter and unfriendly amigo.

Don't fucking mess with Flo Eckhardt.

Sani Alibabic has seen more darkness than thou.

I wouldn't mess with Marco Feichtner either.

With a guest appearance by war-face Louie Purucker.

Flo getting the shot, 16 mm all the way baby.

Wow! Sani catching some mad air yo! From pillow on the left to pillow on the right.

Sani being a Sasquatch

Marco punishing pillows

Thanks people at Def Raggn!

hey there

Man, seems like the days before Christmas flew by a bit too fast for me.
Sorry, I know I gave you a pinky swear to update the other day, and I didn't . So I did the only honourable thing, I chopped my pinky off, so now we're even.

Lately I've been trying to catch up on all the stuff I have to do before Christmas, but that's all secrets, so I can't tell you anything about it here. What' I'll do in stead is give you this small update, then start writing a new one about my last days in Austria as soon as this one is posted, kinda to make it up to you, 2-in 1 kinda.

A day in Austrian mountains

Today I woke up by a gentle knock on the door as Flo the pirate filmer violently pulled me out of a magical dream land. After a hard day of shoveling, hiking, riding and crashing you really appreciate those few hours behind shut eyes.
Unfortunately Sani caught a cold or something the previous day and couldn't join us, so Flo, Carlos and I headed out to meet up with Gigi to do a little secret spot. See, that's the thing, you kinda want to keep what you're doing a secret so it will be a surprise when the pics and film clips come out in about a years time. Damn we're a secret future-orientated society, like a mix between Star Wars and the freemason society. The spot we had planned and already built the day before definitely needed some more fine tuning. Both of our first tries looked and felt like high speed collisions. So we fixed and hit it while the wind was trying to knock us over everytime we stood up. It was like a storm up there, hurricane Austrina, definitely making everything way more sketchy than it already was.
I wish I could show you some pics of the actual session, but the high priest of shrediquette has a bunch of unwritten rules about stuff like that, so you'll have to wait, check out our film in October 09 in stead.

Here's some pics Carlos Blanchard took while we were cruising around doing some fun stuff while waiting for the wind to calm the fuck down.

Gigi and I hanging out on a bunch of bricks.

Power stance, wind in hair, I 'm basically a music video right there.

The OK signal which means "are you ready for this sick shit Carlos?"

Carlos was ready and BOOM! banger shot!! I stomped the hell out of this one.

This is our office.

These are without the best pics on the blog so far. Shitloads of thanks to Carlos Blanchard for these Damned Danny's Days visual aid's.

hey there

soooo...
I'm in Austria, not gonna blame the internet connection for the lack of updates, it's all me, I suck.
Been so tired after shredding really, going to bed at 10 and up at 7 every day, but it's been fun.
Tomorrow I'm heading out with Sani Alibabic and possibly Gigi Rüf for some fun times up in the mountain. I'm guessing we're gonna do tricks, snowboard tricks. Flo and Carlos are gonna do the shooting, those guys are good at shooting. I'll also try to take some pics with my fantastic cam phone, the one that takes really crappy and blurry pics, you know? I'm propably gonna forget all about it though, so don't get your hopes up.
Well anyways, I talked to my buddy Mario who has a really unhealthy relationship with Norwegian food. I promised him to do a blog update so I guess this it. This one counts right?

Going to Austria

It's been snowing quite a lot and I'm stoked, flying to Austria tomorrow to do some pre-christmas shred. I'll try to keep this shit broadcaster updated while I'm down there, only problem is that Austria is a slightly technologically challenged country, so we'll see if there's any internet to be found.
Just found my visa card too, not that it gonna help that much, paying with a visa card is still close to impossible in Austria.
I'm fucking tired, don't even remember what I just wrote about, that was a weird feeling.
good night.

Sunday bloody sunday.

Been up since 6 A.M, trying to read up before an exam. It's a great feeling of accomplishment when you have done control questions for two big and heavily theoretically chapters before 8 A.M and on only one cup of coffee.

Anyway, I'm starting to to feel like having a break soon, not right now (well obviously I have a small break to write this), so I was thinking I might hit up my local hill Kirkerud.
I have to wait until 11 o'clock because that's when they open. It's gonna be a fun little break, good to get out a bit and enjoy yourself after tormenting your soul with horrible formulations, academic language and theories conjured out of thin air (or so it seem at least). I don't get why
more people don't do this. I understand that it's expensive to get out there but it's so much fun and exercise at the same time.. Wow, that really made me sound like a lame old fart, "fun and exercise."
What I meant to say; It's like totally awesome brah, shreddin' the gnar and work that bod yo! Get all radical for the honeys wit' some sweeeeeet moves, ya heard!

This is Kirkerud, this is where I'm going to get my shred on, cowabunga.
Actually that pic is pretty cool, I have to go there tomorrow morning and take a pic at 6 a.m or something, definitely worth it. Click the pic to see a updated pic, if you look like around 11 o'clock you actually might see me, look out for me, I'm the only dude who's done with puberty and on a snowboard there.

a nice quote

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized God doesn’t work that way, so I stole
one and prayed for forgiveness.

Most embarrassing you tube moment.

Most embarrassing moment in Norwegian TV-History actually, and I'm gonna share it with you.
I guess it's true what they say, cocaine is one hell of a drug.

This is gold, pure historical gold, holy shit this is funny in an extremely uncomfortable way.

Take it away Ragnar Otnes.

Can you feel that nasty feeling of embarrassment you get just by watching this? It makes you cringe, you wanna look away but you can't.Just the way he says burger in the beginning? Boor-gehr, buhr-grr, boorg-her.

"Are you ready to jump the burger in the moon?" WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!
"He's gonna Kickah da burgah!"
"I don't know, I don't know whyyyyyy!"
"ahahahey, come on, let's keep it loooow!"

Obviously back in 92 hip-hopers talked like car selling tv preachers with a danish accent and a very limited vocabulary.

I fucking love this clip.

Park Pirate Log

This kicker looks fun like hell.
It's just raining 1080s, still I prefer the fs 3s they are doing though, I love fs 3s because they look fucking cool and are way more fun to do than 1080s.
Check out the video on www.pirate-movie-production.com or subscribe to the pirates podcast so you get a notification in iTunes when there's a new one, that's what happened to me today.
Anyway, touch the pic anyway you like, if you do it right you will be sent to the episode.

Holga pics

Here are some Holga shots I took last season.

Cory Little and Kevin Winkel blocking the view during my first baseball game ever. I ate a Chillidog, had beer, heckled the batter, got a foam hand and saw a homerun.. Didn't get to sing along to "let's go to the ballpark" or whatever it's called.

Kevin shoots beer cans from his porch, damn no-good empty beer cans!

Fucking beer cans, get of my property!

Getting ready to shoot in one of my favorite places to shoot, Røldal in Norway.. Norway can be pretty depressing every now and then. Kinda hard to tell from this pic, but it is.

Tyler Chorlton, Carlos Blanchard and Gigi Rüf are rolling an enormous snowball bigger than the one Flo Eckhardt is posing by. We did tricks on that pole sticking out of the house.

Tj Schneider straight-lining a pretty flat field one foot. He did a ballerina move the second after my shutter clicked.

Driving to Cooke city, funky colors, Holga does those funny things every now and then.

A little collage of pics I took of Gigi and Tyler.

Gigi waiving in Alrberg, besides waiving he's pretty good at riding in Arlberg too.

Kalle Ohlson and his nosespray, the best pic of last season.

Cooke City Pirate Log

Check out the new pirate log from one of my favorite trips this season, Cooke city.
Simply push the pic below and you'll be gently escorted in to winter wonderland.

Methods, just got to love'em.

Josh Sherman, stoked about the snow in Cooke city, haha, what a kook!

So Hot Right Now, no wait, so hot right then I mean.

So hot right now!
It's funny how that has turned in to a normal saying, is it all because of Will Ferrel's character in Zoolander? What's his name again, Mugatu, Mugato? Anyway, sooooo hot right now.

Method mag did a So hot right now check out with me some years ago and I just found it on the web, I love finding old stuff like that! It's a sick video, Opening part by Jules Reymond and closer by me, Markus Keller is the middle seat bitch on this one. It's a fun little film, I just wished I knew how many years ago this was, I'm guessing 48 years ago..

Wait, I think it was 4 years, anyway, press that picture of me to check it out.

shredding in Oslo!

First day of shredding in Oslo today, fucking sick.
Went with my buddy Tom and we caught air all night, pretty epic.
We also had a photo shoot with my Holga, banger shots guaranteed. errr.. let me rephrase that, probably no banger shots, but I'm putting my money on amusing and enjoyable shots, those are the best ones.
this entire post was written with my right hand only since I'm eating chincken with the left one. I'm a multitasking machine that loves chicken.

Slayer LIVE!!

A night of highlights!
Seeing Slayer live is fucking rad, seeing Slayer live for free is just fucking hopelessly awesome.

This is what I got at the ticket counter, Playboard kicks anyone's ass, anytime, anywhere.

Here are some highlights from the night:

- They played the new song Psychopathy red, that song kicks ass, Slayer old-school greatness! Holy shit, it sounds like Araya got Rabies and tries to beat every one up through the mic.

- Angel of Death, no need to explain why this was one of the highlights, "Auschwitz, the meaning of pain, the way that I want you to die!" Kinda fucking creepy having a big picture of Dr Mengele and Hitler on the big screen, just making it painfully clear what the song is about.

- Raining blood, everyone went fucking mental, the whole stadium was a mess of headbanging and horns. I had a hard time paying attention to what was going on on stage, was too busy banging my head off.

This is during the "thunderstorm" of Raining blood.

- Season in the abyss, one of my absolute favorites, no reason to say why I absolutely loved this.

- Jihad, the intro alone makes this a scary moment.

- South of heaven, started with some lame animation of 3 crosses slowly turning in to 3 upside down crosses. They definitely get a minus for the lame big screen, showing a screen saver of Slayer graphics, but who cares with a song like that?

- The Animal. Infamous Norwegian party monster that fuels on alcohol. After the third song, the Animal stripped down to shirtless and had his own moshpit with no one else participating. The Animal basically started 20 fights within 20 minutes but luckily he's an intimidating creature so no one, except one of the singers in Purified in Blood dared to do anything about it. The Animal is no match for that dude, so he was politely but firm forced to the ground, they're friends though, so all good fun.

After the show was over I couldn't help to think "how the hell do all those guys stay chubby? The energy level is that of an hyperactive 16 year old on speed. Headbanger galore all night long and the guys are well in to their 40's. I hope that's me when I reach the golden age of midlife crisis.

Fuck yeah, SLAYER live in Oslo tonight!

Thanks to Ole and the guys and the guys in Purified in Blood I got a ticket to Slayer, thank you so fucking much guys!
